1st July 2021
Dear parent or carer,
We have been working with Alpine over recent weeks to maintain the cost effective bus service that we have run over recent years to support students living in Deganwy and Llandudno Junction which enables them to come safely to school. Together with a group of parents, we have considered the number of people who might need access to the service, where they are located and the safety of the different options for stops.
As a result of these discussions, I am delighted to say that we have agreed that Alpine will continue to provide a single bus to the area collecting at the following stops in the morning:
· Deganwy School 08.26
· Overlea Avenue junction with Albert drive 08.30
· Top of the Hill (Junction Coop) 08.34
· Main road stop outside Junction Station 08.38
In the afternoon the bus will drop off at the following stops:
· Main road stop outside Junction Station
· Top of the Hill (Junction Coop)
· Deganwy School.
This service will commence on MONDAY SEPTEMBER 6th 2021 and will be available for an annual cost of £285.
Students will therefore be able purchase an annual pass for £285.00, payable either by cash or cheque (to Ysgol Aberconwy) or by 10 direct debit instalments of £28.50 per month.
Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate students who apply to use these services, it should be noted that there will be a limit on the number of passes we can provide, corresponding to the number of seats on the bus. As such provision will be allocated on a “first come, first served” basis.
We trust that this service will meet the needs of those who have requested it, but we will review the provision, route and cost on an annual basis with the ‘user group’ that has been set up. We will request your views in readiness for this review during the summer term in 2022.
With kind regards,
