Bringing the Myths of the Carneddau to Life

This term, our Year 10 Creative Media group has been working on an exciting film project in partnership with Wild Kindness Films, Partneriaeth Tirwedd y Carneddau Landscape Partnership and the National Park. The project focuses on bringing the myths and stories of the Carneddau to life through film, providing students with an immersive and professional filmmaking experience.

Students have been filming in various locations, including the school, Conwy town, and Bodlondeb Woods. On Thursday, 5th December, they travelled by minibus to Penmachno, where they filmed on location at the Eagles Hotel and the nearby churchyard.

Throughout the project, students have been guided by three industry professionals, gaining hands-on experience in all stages of film production. They’ve worked on developing scripts, creating storyboards, and planning treatments. They’ve also learned about makeup, costume design, and special effects to bring their creative visions to life.

There is still much to do as the students move into the editing and post-production phases, but this experience has been invaluable. They have had such a positive experience, and it has truly set them up for success in their Creative Digital Media qualification.

We are incredibly proud of their hard work and creativity, and we look forward to sharing the completed films with you next term!
