Windrush Day
To celebrate Windrush Day, students in Year 7 attended a Speakers for Schools webinar with Geoff Thompson MBE, who talked about his own lived experiences as a black man, and the phenomenal life of his mother who was aboard HMS Empire Windrush. Each class submitted questions and Mrs Grimward’s class were lucky enough to have theirs answered: ‘What do you think young people can do to honour Windrush Day?’ It was fantastic to hear Geoff Thompson MBE commend the Welsh Government for their Anti-racist Action Plan.
