All students in Year 7 study Project Based Learning. In these nine lessons we combine the skills and some of the content of the traditional subjects of History, Geography, RE, Performing Arts, Music, Art, Design & Technology and ICT.
The approach allows us to establish good working practices and to bridge the gap from primary to secondary. Our expert team focus on developing the key skills of Literacy, Numeracy and Digital as well as creativity and collaboration. Students learn actively; the Projects are varied and have included ‘The Environment’, ‘Forests’ [delivered by our Forest school team], ‘Robots’ and ‘Cultures’.
Year 7 parents are invited into school to attend a PBL Showcase, where students can show their parents the topics they have studied and the work they have done.
