£3,681 Raised for Charity!

In July this year, Year 7 students took part in the First Give Charity Appeal, with spectacular results!

Under the guidance of Mr Rhydian Jones, Director of Learning, Well-being, House and PHSE, the students selected a local charity and were then tasked with researching their charity, organizing fundraising events and delivering a five minute presentation on their chosen charity and the social action they carried out. To add to the excitement, each form class was competing against every other class to win a grant of £1000 for their chosen charity!

Each charity, including Cancer Research, Conwy Foodbank, St David’s Hospice, Crest, DPJ and Blind Veterans, came into school to work with their class. Students then had fun organizing a variety of activities such as sponge the teacher and a sponsored walk, which not only raised money for the charities but also raised awareness of their invaluable work.

Before half term, the charities were invited back into school to receive their cheques – £536 for each charity and £1000 for the ‘winners’, Blind Veterans (with the help of 7CM!)

Huge congratulations to all the students for your incredible fundraising efforts, enthusiasm and commitment to helping the charities and, ultimately, the community!
