Black History Month

Black History Month celebrations have got off to a great start at Ysgol Aberconwy, with assemblies this week from guest speaker Martha Botros who shared with students the African and Caribbean folktale of Anancy. Some confident students even dressed up as Anancy to help tell the story! Martha also shared a short film about her lived experiences as a biracial woman living in Wales, and her father’s journey from Jamaica to the UK. As a school, we are continuing to embed antiracism into our curriculum to ensure our celebration of diversity lasts all year round.
