Keen to increase opportunities to promote modern foreign languages, the Aberconwy Language Ambassadors decided to run a competition for all pupils who were not participating in the morning events on sports day last week. Small groups of year 8, 9 and 10 learners were invited to produce short articles about sports day in different languages, so whilst competitors demonstrated their fitness abilities on the track, other ‘competitors’ were demonstrating their academic and linguistic abilities in the classroom.
1st prize – French article by Chloe Turner, Courtney Mobley & Kayleigh Murray – year 10 (pictured above)
2nd prize – German article by Elizabeth Morgan, Chelsea Foulkes & Abbie Sutton – year 10
3rd prize – Welsh article by Daniel Raybould and Kyle Roberts – year 9
Well done to the prize winners and thank you to all the pupils who took part.
Da iawn, gut gemacht, très bien J
Language Ambassadors who promoted this competition are: April Ehlke-West, Alice Dyson, Thomas Wilson, Anthony North, Sebastian Evans, Nathan Jones (year 9 pupils)
